ZS Laser Successfully Delivers a Customized CNC Laser Welding Machine for Automatic Door Handle Manufacturing

The customer manufactures stainless steel automatic door handles used in commercial buildings, shopping malls, office entrances, and public facilities.

During production, a metal connector must be permanently welded onto one end of the tubular handle.

Although the welding seam appears simple, the customer faced several manufacturing challenges:

Customized CNC Laser Welding Solution

After carefully evaluating the customer’s product and production process, ZS Laser designed a dedicated CNC platform laser welding machine equipped with a multi-functional rotary welding fixture.

The customized fixture integrates several key functions into one system:

• Automatic workpiece clamping

Once the operator places the door handle onto the rotary fixture, the system automatically clamps the workpiece into the correct position.

During welding, the rotary axis precisely rotates the handle while the laser welding head remains fixed.

This allows the welding seam to pass consistently through the laser focal point, producing a smooth and continuous circumferential weld.

Instead of moving the laser around the part, the workpiece rotates under precise CNC control, greatly improving welding stability and repeatability.
